NZ Listener feature on Paul Cleave now available to read online

Further to my post last month, Jane Bowron's interesting NZ Listener feature article on Kiwi crime writer Paul Cleave, entitled "Blood Man of the Garden City", is now available to read online. Originally published in the Feb 13-19 print issue of the NZ Listener, you can now read the full article here.

Bowron covers some of the same territory that I did in my interview with Cleave late last year (for a 2-page feature in the current, March issue of Australian-based Good Reading magazine), particularly noting the mix of dark crime and wicked humour in Cleave's novels, and how Cleave has sold hundreds of thousands of copies of his books in Germany, but has so far been fairly overlooked (like New Zealand crime fiction in general) in Australasia. Bowron also has some other insights, and, as I noted last month, myself and this blog (somewhat embarrassingly) both get a mention.
