And the winners are...

Thank you to everyone who entered the second ever Crime Watch competition, either by making an entry comment, emailing me directly, or entering on one of the forms distributed at the Takapuna Library. Given that the competition was really only open to those in the Auckland area (when the vast majority of Crime Watch readers are elsewhere in New Zealand and around the world), we had a pretty good response. For those who were ineligible for this competition, never fear, there will be a new worldwide competition opening very soon.

So, without further ado, the winners of the two double-passes Crime Watch is giving away (courtesy of the event organisers) to Lee Child's first event in New Zealand, being held at 7pm at the Rosmini College Auditorium in Takapuna this Sunday, are:
  • Anne-Marie Davis; and
  • Rachel Sutton.
Congratulations to you both! It will be a truly fantastic evening, as it being MC-ed by highly-regarded former publisher, books editor, book awards judge, reviewer, and industry commentator Graham Beattie. I understand from a discussion I had with Beattie yesterday, that Lee Child will be reading from his latest book, there will be a lengthy (40mins or so) onstage interview, discussion, and time for questions from the audience, and then attendees will have the opportunity to have their books personally signed by Lee Child.
Some of the Lee Child events around the country have already sold out, but I understand there are still tickets remaining for this Takapuna event. I recommend any crime/thriller fiction fans in the Auckland area head along, and join us all on Sunday evening. Tickets are just $15, and are available from http://www.eventfinder.co.nz/ (there may be a few door sales on the night).
As a side note, the winners were drawn via random number generator, overseen by someone who had nothing to do with the competition or this blog. Congratulations once again to Anne-Marie and Rachel, and thank you to everyone who participated.
