Investigating crime fiction from a Kiwi perspective
Congratulations to the All Blacks!
Congratulations, but they gave you a real scare.
I don't think I've ever felt so on edge until a final whistle blew! Thank heavens!!!
The cloud has lifted from the land of the long white. Well done the All Blacks. They are deserved world champions. Now I want everyone in NZ to celebrate long and hard and then to remember - there's more to life than a rugby tournament.
France were absolutely magnificent, and proved they deserved to be in the final, while the All Blacks had one of their lesser games, but unlike in the past, still managed to squeak the win even when things weren't going there way. Tense, tense, tense, and not the freeflowing celebration of rugby final we were hoping for, but hey, it's great to get the 24-year-old gorilla off the rugby-loving public's back. And as Mr Robotham says, there is plenty more to life than rugby (though the city and country will seem a little less colourful by comparison the next few weeks, I imagine), but heck, it was nice to win one for a change. Now, I'm off to relax and read a good book.
Great, great day indeed. We've waited a generation and a half for this. ;)
