Kiwi "historical, astrological murder mystery" makes Booker long-list

Early last year I shared some news that Kiwi literary darling Eleanor Catton, who had been much-praised worldwide for her debut novel, THE REHEARSAL, was now writing a "historical, astrological murder mystery" for her sophomore effort. I then spoke to Catton about her dip into the mystery and crime world while we were both at the NZ International Arts Festival in Wellington - her book was underway then, but had a fair way to go. That book, THE LUMINARIES, has now this week been named as one of a dozen books on the prestigious Man Booker long-list, with Catton (27) being the youngest author on the list, and reportedly one of the favourites. That's some really terrific news for a great young talent from this part of the world (and of course the crime-fiction fan in also pretty excited to read Catton's take on a historical murder mystery tale).

  2. I had heard about her first book, and haven't been able to find it up here in Canada yet. This new one sounds exciting, so I'll keep looking and hoping it comes up here. Thanks for the news about it.

  3. Yes astrology is real main part of every human body. I am a astrologer and I know without astrology term every body is half live.
