Murder in the Library - Napier - Wed 7 June

The Ngaio Marsh Awards, in association with the New Zealand Book Council and Napier Libraries, invites booklovers to an event featuring two talented local writers.

2017 Ngaio Marsh Awards entrant Rita Ann Ryan is joined by bestselling author Tina Clough to discuss why they write mystery and thriller stories, and how they create compelling characters, craft page-turning plotlines, and are inspired by living in Hawke’s Bay.

Megan Hunt of the Napier Mail will cross-examine the authors to uncover the truth.

WHEN: Wednesday 7 June 2017
WHERE: Napier Library, 22 Station Street, Napier
WHEN: 5.30pm

This is a free event. Tea and coffee will be served.

Tina Clough was born in Sweden, but now lives in Napier where she translates and edits medical research for a Swedish university, grows organic produce, and writes crime and suspense stories. Her third novel, The Chinese Proverb, was released earlier this year to great reviews and earned a top five spot on the New Zealand fiction bestseller list.

Rita Ann Ryan is the pen name of Wairoa author Margie Sullivan, who has had careers in journalism, business, and healthcare. Her debut novel, A Confidential Agreement, introduces local psychologist Frida Delaney, who is thrust into a world of murder and fraud when she returns home to find her neighbour’s body. She’s currently writing a sequel.
