Touted as 'the most famous address in the world', visitors to London can follow in Sherlock Holmes' footsteps by finding their way to 221b Baker Street, where Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson "lived between 1881-1904, according to the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle".
The property has protected status from the British Government due to its "special architectural and historical interest", while the first floor study overlooking Baker Street is still faithfully maintained for posterity as it was kept in Victorian Times.
Even the nearby Tube station has got in on the famous detective action, as can be seen above.
I think it's time to haul out my battered and, no doubt, dusty copy of the Complete Sherlock Holmes for another trip to the London that never was, but should have been.
