Last Sunday, bestselling New Zealand crime writer Julie Thomas was interviewed for the Standing Room Only show on Radio New Zealand. Thomas was a self-publishing success story a few years ago, with her debut novel THE KEEPER OF SECRETS being picked up by a large overseas publisher after doing very well in downloadable ebook format.
This month, Thomas released her second novel, the blackly comic crime thriller BLOOD WINE & CHOCOLATE. The reader and reviewer response has been terrific, with the book immediately leaping to #1 on the local fiction bestseller list, knocking Eleanor Catton's Man Booker Prize wining THE LUMINARIES, which had owned the position for much of the past 18 months, from the top spot.
